For this method, we need to know either our Spur tooth count OR Pinion tooth count AND either our Rollout in feet OR Our Gear Ratio . Here is an example calculation for both variations of this formula:(Using Spur tooth count and Rollout in feet) Let’s say we have a spur tooth count of 100 and our rollout is 10 feet . This would give us a real world/measured top speed of approximately 43 MPH.
